Award Winner – Mr. Raymond Clarisse
Today, we celebrate Raymond Clarisse, recipient of the Jury’s Award at the Seychelles Arts Awards 2025.
Raymond’s journey in the arts is one of dedication, humility, and passion. A true “hybrid artist,” his path has woven together theatre, music, film, and storytelling, always rooted in Seychellois culture yet with a vision that reaches far beyond. From his early days in theatre and church choirs to creating the Mahé Chamber Choir, Raymond has built platforms for others to grow, inspiring new generations of artists while carrying forward our cultural heritage.
His work blends tradition and innovation, reflecting his belief that art is not about fame, but about connection, authenticity, and purpose. Through mentoring, film projects, and initiatives like ‘Sesel I Annan Talan’, he has uplifted young talents and reminded us that true art transforms, unites, and feeds the soul.
The Jury’s Award honours Raymond’s outstanding contribution to the arts — recognising creativity, merit, and perseverance beyond categories. His legacy continues to light the way for others, proving that art, when rooted in culture and driven by purpose, leaves a lasting mark.
