Award Winner – Mr. Andreix Rosalie
Today we shine the spotlight on Andreix Rosalie, whose tireless dedication to the preservation and promotion of Creole culture and language earned him a Special Mention Award at the 2025 Seychelles Arts Awards.
For Andreix, Creole is not just a language, it is a heritage, a way of life, and a bond between past, present, and future. From his early years in a culturally conscious family to his decades of work in the Creole Festival and advocacy for Creole in education and media, he has been a true driving force for cultural resilience.
Andreix sees his award not as a personal recognition, but as a celebration of a collective movement — a community effort to keep our Creole culture alive, relevant, and respected. As he passionately reminds us, “If we lose Creole, we lose a piece of ourselves. We lose our story.”
Through his voice and vision, Andreix continues to inspire the next generation to embrace Creole as a living, evolving language that must be celebrated and carried proudly into the future.
