Official Visit of Minister Amanda Bernstein to the Department of Culture

On Friday 14 November 2025, the newly appointed Minister for Tourism and Culture, Hon. Bernstein, undertook her first official visit to the Department of Culture, beginning with a Meet and Greet session with the senior management team at the National Library.

The session provided an opportunity for the Minister to gain an initial understanding of the Culture Institute’s mandate and priorities. The session also allowed for an exchange on the government’s vision for culture and tourism, and to outline the preparation of the Situational Analysis and its proposed timeframe.

Following the meeting, Minister Bernstein visited key cultural institutions:

-Administration Section – Culture Institute

-National Library

-National Arts and Crafts Council (NACC)

-National Museum of History

-Lakademi Kreol

These visits allowed the Minister to gain firsthand insight into the ongoing work, challenges, and opportunities across the cultural sector.

The official visits continue on Monday, 17 November 2025, where Minister Bernstein will tour:

-National Archives – Helena Building, Ile du Port

-International Conference Centre of Seychelles (ICCS)

-National Conservatoire of Performing Arts (NCPA)

-Seychelles Heritage Resource Council – Craft Village, Au Cap, followed by a debriefing.

Further discussions will also take place regarding upcoming visits to the National Library Reading Centres on Praslin and La Digue.
