Continuation of the Official Visit of Minister Amanda Bernstein to the Department of Culture
Yesterday, Monday 17 November 2025, Minister for Tourism and Culture, Hon. Bernstein, continued her official familiarisation tour of key institutions under the Department of Culture.
The second day of the visit began at the National Archives at Ile du Port, where the Minister received an overview of the preservation and access systems in place for the country’s documentary heritage.
This was followed by a visit at the International Conference Centre of Seychelles (ICCS), conducted as part of the onsite engagement at the Creative Seychelles Agency. The ICCS serves as a significant national venue for cultural, artistic, and conference events and plays an important role in supporting the creative sector.
Minister Bernstein then proceeded to the National Conservatoire of Performing Arts (NCPA) at Mont Fleuri, where she engaged with management and staff on the ongoing work to develop talent in music, dance, and theatre.
The visit continued at the Seychelles Heritage Resource Council at the Craft Village, Domaine Val de Prés, Au Cap, providing the Minister with deeper insight into the preservation, promotion, and transmission of Seychelles’ tangible and intangible heritage, followed by a visit to its new administrative building currently under construction.
The day concluded with a debriefing and working lunch at Maison Marengo, where discussions centred on strengthening collaboration, identifying priority areas, and exploring opportunities to reinforce the role of culture within the newly merged Ministry of Tourism and Culture.
