H.E. Mr. Han Zheng, Vice President of the People’s Republic of China official visit

Seychelles had the distinct honour of welcoming H.E. Mr. Han Zheng, Vice President of the People’s Republic of China, earlier today as part of his high-level official visit.

During his programme, His Excellency and his delegation visited Venn’s Town Mission, a site of profound historical and cultural importance to Seychelles. He was received by the Minister for Tourism and Culture, Amanda Bernstein, alongside the Principal Secretary for Culture, Cecille Kalebi.

Also present were two members from the technical team working on the Venn’s Town dossier for its potential inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List, Miss Benjamine Rose and Mrs. Therese Barbé, who provided insights into the site’s rich history and significance.

It is worth noting that the site successfully passed an important completion phase earlier this month, marking steady progress in Seychelles’ efforts to see Venn’s Town recognised on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
