Heritage Week – hands-on capacity building activity

On Friday, 17th April, the Seychelles National Heritage Resource Council brought staff from across the Culture Department together for a meaningful and hands-on capacity building activity, one that went beyond training and made a real impact.

As part of Heritage Week, the team stepped out of the office and into action at Venn’s Town, transforming the day into a powerful site cleaning initiative. But this was more than just cleaning, it was about learning, sharing skills, and strengthening our collective responsibility to protect and preserve our cultural treasures.

Through practicals in conservation and site maintenance, participants gained valuable knowledge while directly contributing to the upkeep of one of our nation’s historic landmarks.

Moments like these remind us that heritage preservation isn’t just a duty. It’s a shared commitment. When we come together, we don’t just maintain sites. We keep our history alive for generations to come.
